Amanda Smith was born and raised Spokane, Wa where she worked for the Spokesman-Review before taking an internship at the Seattle Times followed by a job at the Post Register in Idaho Falls. Smith has worked for various publications including ESPN, Shape, Sports Illustrated, Bloomberg, The Associated Press and the New York Times. Smith most currently worked for the Register-Guard before being laid off in June 2009.
