It had been awhile.
The month flew by at break-neck-speed.
I barely touched my camera, and to be honest I didn’t notice.
Between business plans and bookkeeping programs there wasn’t time for photos.
There wasn’t time for me.
It hit me as I drove to the Martin’s home on Saturday.
My blog hadn’t been updated in a month. The photos shot this month were still collecting dust on my hard-drive, untouched.
Oh god, what has happened to me?
I am used to shooting everyday. Shooting sometimes five or six assignments in a day.
Now… what is this new life? Teaching, desk work, scattered assignments and shoots? Days to full to update blogs?
So, to put it mildly, I was beyond excited to shoot the Martins.
Through scorching heat, with sweat dripping down my back. I framed each shot. Laughing and joking as I went. Enjoying the moment, the art, the light, and the beautiful mess the harsh heat was making all of us.
I was pleased when I came home and started going through the dozens of pictures filled with laughing “kids” and responsible parents.
